Professional Experience

Avassa Systems, Co-founder & CTO

March 2020 – Present · Stockholm, Sweden

Co-founded Avassa to solve deployment and operations of containerised applications and AI/ML workloads at the distributed edge, a segment not well served by hyperscale cloud platforms. As CTO, leads technology vision, product architecture, and engineering.

  • Designed and built a distributed edge control plane enabling enterprises to deploy and manage applications across hundreds of edge locations from a single control point.
  • Extended the platform to support Edge AI and ML inference workloads, enabling data processing and AI-driven decisions close to the source in industrial and enterprise environments.
  • Established the company’s technical brand through speaking engagements, published content, and industry presence in the edge computing space.
  • Recruited and led a cross-functional engineering organisation across distributed teams.

Cisco, Senior Director of Product Management

August 2014 – March 2020 · Stockholm, Sweden

Joined Cisco through the acquisition of Tail-f Systems, taking a senior role in the Service Provider Business Unit. Led product management for Cisco’s Network Services Orchestrator (NSO), a network automation platform with 150 major brand customers and a $100M annual revenue contribution.

  • Led a team of 6 product managers and development community leaders, reporting to the VP of Network Automation and Orchestration.
  • Drove the NSO product roadmap through a period of major industry transition towards SDN, NFV, and network programmability.
  • Led product strategy across Cisco’s global service provider customer base, covering orchestration of current and next-generation virtualised networks.
  • Collaborated with engineering, sales, and field teams across multiple geographies to align product direction with market requirements.

Tail-f Systems AB, VP Technology / COO / VP Engineering

June 2006 – August 2014 (8 years 3 months)

Joined as the third employee in 2006. Took on multiple senior roles through the company’s history until Cisco acquired it for $175M in 2014.

  • VP Technology / North America CTO (Feb 2010 – Aug 2014): Led commercialisation of the ConfD (embedded network management framework) and NCS (Network Control System) products globally (5 direct reports). Relocated to Silicon Valley in 2013 as North America CTO to establish US operations and drive strategic partnerships ahead of the exit.
  • COO (Oct 2007 – Nov 2010): Ran day-to-day operations including finance, partnerships, and customer success as the company grew from startup to market-fit.
  • VP Engineering (Jun 2006 – Aug 2008): Built and led the founding engineering organisation (20 direct reports) through early growth, from minimum viable product to a stable team on consistent release schedules.

ServiceFactory AB, Co-founder, Systems Architect, Product Manager & Director

November 1999 – May 2006 (6 years 7 months)

Co-founded ServiceFactory, a developer of customer service and provisioning platforms for internet service providers. Took on roles in systems architecture, product management, and company leadership over nearly seven years.

  • Designed and implemented the core platform architecture. Wrote complete technical documentation covering all configuration and operating aspects of the system.
  • Became Director, taking on product lifecycle management, roadmap development, pricing, and go-to-market execution.

Telia AB, Senior Network Architect / Network Operations Engineer

January 1997 – November 1999 (2 years 11 months)

One of the principal architects of Telia’s second-generation internet services platform, an industry first supporting a wide variety of access types and application services to millions of subscribers. This platform later became the foundation of ServiceFactory. Also defined and maintained the architecture of the European and North American IP transport network, with active participation in IETF and RIPE. As Postmaster of the telia.com domain, operated an email fabric serving 750,000 subscribers across three countries and developed best practice guidelines for anti-spam measures in operator networks.
